Scormify SCORM Conversion Tool FAQ
Want to know our most asked questions about course creation using Scormify's SCORM conversion tool? We've got you covered.
Basics
What is SCORM?
SCORM (Shareable Content Object Reference Model) is a set of eLearning standards that ensures courses work consistently across learning platforms.
What does Scormify convert, exactly?
A conversion is turning a single source object (e.g., a PowerPoint, PDF, video, or URL) into a SCORM course. Each source object you convert counts as one conversion and the resulting course file can be downloaded repeatedly.
Which SCORM version does Scormify produce?
Scormify exports packages in SCORM 1.2.

Uploads, Formats & Limits
What’s the maximum file size I can upload?
File Type | Free | Paid |
---|---|---|
PowerPoint | 50 MB | 250 MB |
PDF/Document | 50 MB | 250 MB |
Video | N/A | 500 MB |
Can I include my organization’s logo in the course?
Yes. The simplest method is to host your logo image and reference it in the course’s footer via an HTML image tag. Native logo styling support is planned for the future.
Do animations, embedded media, or interactive elements in my PowerPoint/PDF work after conversion?
Scormify optimizes documents for compatibility, which means interactive elements (e.g., animations, embedded videos) won’t function after conversion. Hyperlinks and static images are preserved.
Video, Streaming & Quizzing
Can I upload a video directly and add quizzes?
Yes—on paid plans you can upload a video file (up to 500 MB) and optionally add in‑video quiz questions at chosen timestamps.
Do you support streaming video (HLS)?
Yes. You can reference an HLS (HTTP Live Streaming) manifest hosted on your own server or video platform. HLS adapts quality to the learner’s bandwidth for a streaming experience similar to major video services.
Tip: Hosting large videos externally via HLS keeps SCORM packages smaller and improves playback resilience.
Which Scormify content types support quizzing?
Currently, video uploads support built‑in quizzing. (Document‑based conversions do not include quizzing.)
Using Scormify
Can I bulk upload?
Yes. Use the bulk upload workflow to queue multiple items.
Can I see my past conversions/downloads?
Yes. The History section (top navigation) lists previously converted items.
How many times can I download a converted course?
Unlimited. Once an item is converted, you can download its SCORM package as often as you like.
How long are the immediate download links valid after a new conversion?
After a fresh conversion, the on‑screen download link remains active for 20 minutes. (Your converted files remain available to re‑download from History at any time.)
Is there a demo I can watch?
Yes! Here’s a video playlist showing Scormify in action.
Security & Data Handling
Are my uploaded files secure?
Yes. Files are stored in Amazon S3 for retrieval and are not publicly accessible outside of Scormify.
