Hello from Knowledge Anywhere. There’s plenty to share with you this month – many LMS updates, more new courses, a new article, and a reminder about our LMS free trial. 

LMS Updates: Assessments and Personally Identifiable Information

Our LMS is under active development, and we’re excited to share some of the features we’ve rolled out since our last newsletter. And stay tuned, because there is much more coming in 2026! 

Administrators can create assessments within the Knowledge Anywhere LMS, and our team has been busy enhancing the capabilities of these assessments.

  • We’ve made it easier to manage question pools. A question pool allows you to create an assessment from a subset of questions in the pool, varying the questions a learner sees in each instance of the assessment.

  • We’ve added more options for assessment formatting and including images in questions.  

  • You can set time limits on assessments, and those limits are now more flexible. Admins can set a default additional time for assessments site-wide and override time limits for specific assessments. Time limits can be extended for individual users to accommodate accessibility needs. Changes are logged for auditing. 

  • If desired, you can allow learners to review an assessment before submitting it. We’ve improved the summary screen, allowing learners to bookmark questions and easily return to them before submitting the assessment. This is a great feature for timed assessments, allowing learners to skip difficult questions, complete the easier questions, and return to the skipped questions if they have time.

The LMS allows you to track extensive learner profile information, including custom profile fields, and some of that information may be sensitive or Personally Identifiable Information (PII). The LMS now features enhanced capabilities for protecting this information.

  • By default, the user's first name, last name, and e-mail are considered to be PII. Custom fields can also be flagged as PII.
  • PII access can be toggled for individual administrators and applied to selected custom user fields, and information will be obfuscated based on selections, restricting access to authorized users. This is the view for an unauthorized administrator.
