(P) How to Configure SAML 2.0 Identity Provider for LinkedIn Learning

Knowledge Anywhere supports IdP-initiated SSO and IT (Just In Time) Provisioning with LinkedIn Learning.

Step 1: Sign in to your LinkedIn Learning account as an administrator and go into Me (in upper right) > Authenticate

Step 2: Here you will find the Single Sign-On (SSO) settings. Click Add New > SAML. 

Step 3: Type in a name to indicate it’s for the LMS (example: Client LMS) and click Next 

Step 4: From the Identity provider settings, click Download file. This will download an XML file that you will need to input information into Knowledge Anywhere. 

Step 5: Open the XML file and find the following parameters 

  • Entity ID 
  • Assertion Consumer Service (ACS )URL 

Step 6: Sign in to your Knowledge Anywhere LMS Admin and navigate to Site > SAML Settings > Identity Provider. Input SP Entity ID and ACS URL. Also toggle on the Relay To setting. 

  • SP Name Should be LinkedIn Learning 
  • Note: SSO ID for LinkedIn Learning should be Email. 

Click Save. Map any additional fields if desired. Knowledge Anywhere recommends mapping: 

  • First Name 
  • Last Name 
  • Email

Step 7: Download the IdP MetaData XML file.   

Step 8: Go back to LinkedIn Learning Admin and click Next.  

Step 9: Under SSO Settings step, click Upload XML file. This will import the date from the file to LinkedIn and click Save SSO Configuration

Step 10: If you want to enable Just In Time (JIT) Provisioning, you will need to turn on Automatically assign licenses as well as Select a Budget Group. 

Your users can now login to LinkedIn Learning via Knowledge Anywhere!

Please note, depending on how your LinkedIn Learning account is set up, your users may need to bind their profile.
