How do I manage a learning path, and add courses to it?

A learning path is a curriculum of assigned training courses added to the LMS and assigned to a group for consistent training.

For best practices, the name of the learning path should relate to its course content—it should reveal the main topic that the users will learn about. In addition, the courses within the learning path should be related—the combination of courses should build toward helping the user master a particular skill or competency.

To create a learning path

  1. Open the Administrative Dashboard
  2. Select Content tab, then under Organize Content section, select Learning Paths
  3. From the Learning Paths page, search or scroll to ensure the learning path you wish to add does not already exist. You can search by learning path name, description, or group access

  4. If you wish to continue and add a new one, select Add Learning Path

  5. Enter all the desired fields and then select Save
  6. The Learning Paths page reappears to include the newly-created learning path

To assign courses to the learning path

  1. Find the learning path from Learning Paths page mentioned above
  2. Click on the Learning Path Name
Alternatively, click on the number under the Courses column, then click Manage Courses
(as shown in the animated image above)
  3. In the Learning Paths Detail page, shown below, click COURSES tab
  4. Click CHOOSE COURSES TO ADD

  5. After choosing a course, it will appear on the grid
  6. Repeat this process for each course you want to add to the learning path and then select Save
  7. From this page you can change the order of the courses shown on the learner site by dragging the up-down Priority arrows, then click Save
  8. To remove a course from the Learning Path, click on the deselect icon, then click Save
