How are course due dates used in the LMS?

A due date is the specific date by which a training course must be completed by the learner. It serves as a deadline to ensure that learners stay on track and complete their courses in a timely manner.

If, for any reason, the learner fails to meet the due date, both the administrator and the learner themselves will be notified through a message within the Learning Management System (LMS). This message will clearly indicate that the course is now past due, prompting the learner to take immediate action.

Furthermore, if the course in question is a prerequisite for other trainings, the learner will not be able to proceed with those subsequent trainings until they have successfully completed the overdue course.

If this course is a prerequisite to other trainings, the learner will not be able to continue until this course has been completed. The learner will also receive an email notification that the course is past due. This ensures that learners have a solid foundation and the necessary knowledge before moving on to more advanced topics.

Note:

  • Due dates will only appear for the course if the learning path is required for that user
  • There are no due dates for classroom courses
